Oceans day in the Voronezh Oceanarium
Voronezh Oceanarium in cooperation with the Voronezh regional universal scientific library. I. S. Nikitin on 7 June on the eve of world oceans day held an event for schoolchildren of the city of Voronezh. It was held in the Voronezh Oceanarium next to the aquarium, populated by marine inhabitants – sharks, eels, sea turtles and piranhas.

Nikitin spent with the participants in a conversation about the seas and oceans of our planet, its inhabitants and most interesting facts about them. A film was shown “the Most amazing animals on planet Earth”, which refers to the unusual inhabitants of the deep sea. Then all had an entertaining quiz, devoted to the mysteries of the underwater world from Voronezh Oceanarium. Each winner of the quiz received a commemorative trophy.
Entertainment took place on an improvised deck of a pirate ship and was accompanied by a costumed exhibition performances of fencers, fun games and competitions. In conclusion, the guests of the event were expecting the tournament Board game “battleship”. The event was attended by over 100 people.
As a holiday, world oceans day was proposed by the participants of the International summit conference, held in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). However, only in 2009 the General Assembly of the United Nations made it official. Since then, the holiday is celebrated June 8, anyone who has even the most remote relation to the ocean. Thus, humanity has received another opportunity forces all people to preserve nature at its best, to take care of the flora and fauna of the ocean. Care about the ocean will cause an obstruction to the extinction of many species of plants and animals. Today employees of many zoos, aquariums, dolphinariums coordinate their efforts in order to protect the rights of the inhabitants of the deep sea and stable ecological environment, carry out various educational events and programs.
